Canon Eos 50d Vs Nikon D90 Dslr

canon eos 50d vs canon eos 40d vs nikon d90?

i want to buy one of these cameras, i just dont know wich one, i want to use it for mostly portraits fotos and maybe some landscape, most importand thing for me is the image quality, wich one should i get D:
this will be my first dslr, and i want the best for my price.
