How good is the Canon EOS 1000D?

If you have this camera, you can tell how good it is, or if you are a photographer, you could interpret a good entry-level DSLR camera ...

I am looking to get on one, a friend of mine really his prices. I have the Nikon D60 and saw that as pointed I'm looking for a Canon I just need you to do are now. I am also very much a beginner with respect to the use of a DSLR. The EOS 1000D makes View seems the best model for those used to a standard digital camera and the live is a great feature.
