Question about memory card speeds?
As I read Ken Rockwell's site, he said, 2GB SD card are fast, so I was wondering if I for 4GB would be fast enough (I take pictures just for fun, and I go on vacation 1-3 times a year if it matters). And if it helps, I could Mode shoot in burst when something turns up. I can buy two 4GB SD cards (Sandisk Ultra II 4GB), but it is fast enough for me? And I ask the same for Compact Flash cards (more specifically, the Sandisk Extreme II 4GB), I can move up to Semi-Pro Canon EOS 50D at some point. Thanks in advance!
A "fast Card "to memory (2GB vs 4GB), but rather refer to the" writing speed "of the card. The writing speed is the speed with which the card is able to save your image. For example, the Ultra II SD card, mention that you store 15MB of information per second. Many casual users do not need Make writing speed, take a picture because it only at a time and therefore do not need a fast card. It is right at the beginning if you use features such as burst mode or video use, and if you start with some of the advanced features of the higher cameras like to save your images as RAW files, the files are large. When shooting in burst mode, write the speed affects how many frames per second shooting and affects how quickly your camera recovered during and immediately after shooting a burst. For example, if your camera has that they can shoot a maximum of 7 frames per second in burst mode it can shoot only 5 fps, because you might with a slow card can not save the MBs at a rate that keeps pace with the level of the MBs is entered quickly. Buy what you can afford. The cards you are listed for occasional use well. If you currently have a point-and-shoot or an entry level DSLR or do not have much money and you are not planning to do a whole lot of burst shooting, you need Do not faster. Well, if you do end up getting the 50D and plan to make a lot of burst shooting and / or work with very large files, then it would be a good idea to upgrade your camera card, at least something like the SanDisk Ultra III, so that you have more of. Edit here is a bit on the card speeds: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital # Speeds
