Error 99 on my canon eos rebel dslr camera. Please help!?
hi, i have a canon eos rebel that keeps displaying "Error 99". so i took out the battery, took off the lens, and yes my battery is completely charged, etc... but now when i try to take a photo my lens keeps making a crazy noise, and my lens blacked out for a second while i was looking through the view finder. What should i do, i'm an high school student so i can't just go and buy a replacement lens or camera. please help

also when i do turn it off and then back on i can maybe take a few photos before it starts all of this again.
error 99 is usually a 'catch all' from what I hear.
It can be anything from a faulty card, to a dirty contact on your lens or body. I would check the contacts to make sure they are clean. To clean the electronic contacts on the lens, use a clean, soft, dry cloth and check the mount interface switch on the body's lens mount for dirt or damage
