Canon Eos Fisheye Adapter

What size Lens adapter do I need?

I borrowed a fish-eye lens from my student days, and it says it is on 49mm. I have a Canon EOS 400D with 18-55mm lens. This sounds like a silly question, but how big I need lens buy adapter? If it were only a 55mm one? Thanks in advance.

I assume that a fisheye adapter and not a fish-eye lens. It should enter the lens filter size on the front des Look for a small circle with a continuous line and a number such as "58mm". This is the filter thread. This is definitely a step down, 58mm to 49mm mounting .... You're not going to get the most to get out of the adapter.
