4GB Memory Card - how many photos?

I have the "Jessops 4GB SDHC Memory Card" with my camera Canon EOS 450D, if I have purchased tickets, that memory, the staff said I would be able to take photos to 400th I have over 639 photos now. This person was obviously wrong, so I I asked how many photos I will be able to take? My camera is 12.2 mega pixels. Each photo is about 4MB.

ok, wow ... to judge so quickly. an image can be anywhere like 60k of 5MB, depending on the resolution, colors, .. usually a picture, etc. is about 1MB Sun 400 right. If you are always great. Look at the size of the individual will receive, on average, and divide into 4 GB for an accurate estimate.
