Canon Eos Raw Software
Canon Eos Raw Software

Which should I buy -Apple Aperture or Adobe Lightroom?
I am a previous Photoshop 3.0 user and have really liked the software. Recently, I decided that it was time for me to start shooting RAW with my new Canon EOS Rebel XTi. I have narrowed my software choices to two - Apple Aperture and Adobe Photoshop Elements. The main criteria that I am looking for is a good RAW work flow. Could either of these be used as a stand-alone image editing software?
Thanks!
I assume correctly, I hope, that you have a Mac, as there is no PC version of Aperture.
I use Adobe Photoshop CS3 & Lightroom and am very happy with both. Lightroom intergrates well with Photoshop, and you're right about wanting to use (either Aperture or Lightroom) with your RAW files.
I printed the Lightroom manual (after I bought it via Adobe.com), but never really referred to it as the program is quite easy to learn, and to use, as well. The "work flow" is easy to follow and I can't imgine using Adobe Bridge to convert these bunch of RAW files any longer.
So if you have a Mac, you have two choices. I have a PC, and it was "on sale" for $199 when it first came out, and I thought it was a good bye.
