Nikon D3100 or Canon Rebel XSi? Help!?
Hi! So I'm looking into buying my very first SLR camera and would like advice.
The two cameras I've had my eye on are the Nikon D3100 (http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Products/Product/Digital-SLR-Cameras/25472/D3100.html) and the Canon Rebel XSi (http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_rebel_xsi_ef_s_18_55is_kit)
I'm looking to learn more and more about photography as I go on, but as of now, I don't really know enough to be able to tell which is the better overall camera. If you could offer your insight, that'd be great. Thanks!
The Nikon D3100 is a better camera. The question you have to ask yourself is if you really need the extra features.
Compared to the XSi, the Nikon D3100 has:
-More Megapixels
-Video recording
-Higher ISO @ 6400 and 12800
If you don't need those features, then you might want to save some money and not go with the D3100. For the beginner photographer, I'd actually recommend the Nikon D3000 or Canon Rebel XS with kit lens. From there, you can take your extra money and invest in some better lenses, which is what really matters when it comes to image quality.
