Canon Eos Rebel Xti 400d Digital Slr Camera

Im looking to upgrade my photography camera and could use a little help?

I am currently using Canon Rebel XS 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera as a started camera and since my business has really took off i have out grown this camera and im wanting to upgrade to something that will help me with less editing and just plain out beautiful pictures... please help! the ones that i have looked at are the Canon Rebel XTi (400D) and the Canon EOS 30 & 50D SLR Digital Camera so what do you guys recommend?
okay so "blah" i like the results of the t1i but what lense are you using? and Eric so you saying i just need to upgrade my lenses? and it would be the same as upgrading my camera?

The camera won;t really make your pictures any nicer (except when we look at ISO performance). There's no need to upgrade from an XS unless you go 7D or up really ... maybe the T2i would be worth it mainly for the better screen, better ISO performance and decent video capabilities.

It's really dependent on your budget to start. You might also be better served getting better glass ... I don;t know what you have lens wise so it's hard to say and I don;t know what type of photography you do so ...

Upgrading your lenses, buying a flash ... you'll get more bang for your buck from those than upgrading your body.

I shoot with 2 cameras ... an XSi and T1i and you can't tell which is which (except when in super low light).

All these shots were done with a cheap flash off camera (one with an umbrella, another with a snoot and one with a flash behind and umbrella and a flash on the floor lighting the backdrop).

You really can't tell the difference and we're talking 12 and 15MP. 10 and 15 won't make much of a difference unless you plan on starting to print huge poster prints.

Instead, invest on some flashes, better lenses ... unless you move to a full frame camera (or unless video is of interest to you) it's not worth upgrading.

This shot was taken with only natural light, my T1i and a REALLY good lens ... a 70-200mm f2.8 L Series (2500$Can) ... at a wedding in the shade.

I could have done the exact same shot with my XSi and you would not be able to tell the difference (other than by looking at the EXIF info and the fact that the picture is a tiny bit smaller).

A fun lens for portraits is a 50mm f1.8 ... it's only 140$Can and is great to generate the soft background you see in the previous example and in low light.

If you buy a flash, buy a decent one (480 or 580 EXII) and if you are interested in doing some off camera portraiture, you can put a kit together for about 300$ with off camera flashes, an umbrella, remote triggers ... so on so forth.

If you are unsure ... you can rent most of this gear for next to nothing for a weekend. Go to a rental place and rent a good lens like the 24-70 f2.8 L (35$Can rental) or rent a flash (8$Can to rent a Canon 580EXII) and try them out.

Oh and another suggestion ... shoot in RAW.
