Canon EF 75-300 there is a difference between these two?

Hi I have noticed, says a few pictures that I've seen it, what to be the seems the same lens but where it has an image stabilizer on the words and the other in their little silver one thing Pest type, just someone knows what is the difference?? they are almost identical ... I'm not sure what the guy on speaks to me ... they are very similar lenses ... there is a small difference in range ... Lens # 2 is 5mm extra on the wide end (almost nothing) ... and lens # 1 is a bit faster at F4.0 at the wide end instead of f4.5 lens # 2 ... but they are both stabilized and both have the USM motor on it ... one is probably only a "updated" (Minor changes and a cosmetic change) version of the other ... I would personally go with Lens # 1 ... It is a little faster and the extra 5mm lens at # 2 makes no difference ... # 1 looks more solidly built to me ... PS I am not a Canon user, I can not really comment on picture quality of these lenses, I'm just following the specifications / descriptions ... possibly other Canon users could tell you how they stack against each other visually ...
