How can I upload images from my camera to my laptop?
I have a Windows Vista home premium laptop and I've been trying to upload my Canon eos rebel 300 so I can download my images. I have already downloaded the software from the site, but instead, when plugged up, a screen will pop up and say that it can not find the software/driver needed. Should I just get a card reader and what type?
It sounds like you have the wrong driver downloaded. It is possible that you donwloaded the software, but not the driver. Most likely there is more than one file, so you will need to download the other files.
As far as getting a card reader, that would be the easist option. what care reader you need depends on what card your camera uses. It looks like it uses SD. You can buy a card reader for about $10 in any store. Any type will do. You can get it for about $5 if you do some internet searching. You can get a card to usb converter, which will basically turn your SD card into a USB flash drive whenever you want, that would be my personal choice in adapter.
Unless you got many different types of media, I would get an sd specific converter. It would be the least intrusive type.
Other than that, there is not much more advice you need. Either fix the driver issue by finding/reinstalling/restarting a couple of times, or switch to a card reader, any of them will work. If you have SDHC(high capacity), make sure the card reader reads that, some don't.
